The Old Man and the Sea (1958) Movie Drinking Game

Take a Drink: for every suspenseful moment

Drink a Shot: for every shot of the famous marlin (a type of fish) that makes this story so famous

And Cheers: to Spencer Tracy for having permission from Ernest Hemingway himself to star in this film!

By: Alex Phuong (A Toast) –

Ernest Hemingway remains an iconic author.  His literary classics include A Farewell to Arms and The Sun Also Rises.  Besides being a novelist, Hemingway also composed short stories.  One of the best is “The Old Man and the Sea,” and this celebrated narrative had its film adaptation released in 1958.

A Toast!

First of all, Spencer Tracy delivers one of his best performances in this film.  Furthermore, the cinematography vividly portrays Hemingway’s classic story as a cinematic adventure.  Finally, the Oscar-winning score composed by Dimitri Tiomkin gives the film a uniquely dramatic quality to it.

Verdict

This film reveals what it means to be human no matter what the age of that person is!
