Peter O’Toole was one of the greatest actors of all time. In fact, he deserved his Oscar nominations for films ranging from Lawrence of Arabia to The Lion in Winter. Despite his acting abilities, he never won an Academy Award for any of his performances (except one Honorary Oscar). His final Oscar-nominated performance was for Venus.

This film does feature a compelling character! In fact, Maurice is one of the best roles that Peter O’Toole ever played. Furthermore, the film delves deep into the contrasts between generations, and also explores aging profoundly. This film really is a unique romantic dramedy.
Verdict
Venus is much more than just the Roman goddess of love!
