As a sport, there is a sense of glamour associated with the equestrian. Indeed, horseback-riding does have its own elegance. In fact, many films center on that specific sport, including Black Beauty and Equus. For example, one of the greatest classics that features horses is National Velvet.
A Toast!
First of all, this is one of the best family films ever produced. Furthermore, the film stars Elizabeth Taylor and Mickey Rooney at the prime of their youth. Additionally, the film earned two Academy Awards for its film editing, and for Anne Revere’s supporting role. Finally, the film features beautiful production design and cinematography because of the brilliance of director Clarence Brown.
Verdict
Ultimately, this film is much more than just an adaptation of the novel by Enid Bagnold!
