First of all, ghosts are both within horror films and romantic dramas. In fact, Ghost remains a contemporary classic. Nevertheless, black-and-white films from the early age of Hollywood sometimes bent film genres. For example, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir reveals the complexity of life, death, and love.
A Toast!
Overall, this film is a very compelling. Furthermore, the film earned an Academy Award nomination for its cinematography.
Beer Two
Even though the camera movements are hauntingly beautiful, the costumes are somewhat problematic. For instance, at one point in the film, the costumes looked like 1940’s attire even though the film takes place during an earlier time period.
Verdict
Nevertheless, this film is still a sumptuous adaptation of the novel by R.A. Dick.
