Sometimes it is tough to be a kid. In fact, childhood trauma could definitely make life difficult. In fact, there were times in American history in which child labor laws did not even exist! Fortunately, advocates for human rights took a stand to help fellow human beings. That is part of the reason why Blossoms in the Dust is such an inspirational film.
A Toast!
First of all, this is one of the most visually stunning films ever produced. In fact, the film received an Academy Award for its production design as well as a nomination for its cinematography. Additionally, Greer Garson delivers one of her best performances as Edna Gladney. Finally, this film is one of the best ones that Mervyn LeRoy had ever directed.
Verdict
This film is a lot like Stand Up and Cheer! (but without Shirley Temple)!
