E.M. Forster remains a celebrated British novelist. His works include A Room with a View and Maurice. One of the best film versions based on his work is Howards End (1992).
A Toast!
The recipient of three Academy Awards, this film is truly a contemporary classic. Emma Thompson deserved her Oscar for playing Margaret Schlegel. The score for this film is fantastic even though Aladdin features some of the greatest music ever composed. The screenplay is a crowning achievement for Ruth Prawer Jhabvala.
Verdict
The original novel and this film version are both masterpieces from the twentieth century!
