First of all, wartime is anything but gorgeous. Nevertheless, beauty could still exist even during the darkest times. That is part of the reason why Seven Beauties is a highly original film.
A Toast!
Nominated for four Academy Awards, this is an amazing war dramedy. Furthermore, the film beautifully depicts life in Italy during World War II. Additionally, Lina Wertmüller made history as the first woman to receive an Oscar nomination for directing. Finally, Giancarlo Giannini offers an incredible performance as Lina Wertmüller’s screenplay unfolds on-screen.
Verdict
Ultimately, beauty is subjective, and this film is gorgeous in its own unique way!
