As a term, “resurrection” has a variety of connotations. In fact, it is also a part of Christian theology (but this film review is not trying to preach anything). Nevertheless, life and death do go hand-in-hand, and near-death experiences do provide compelling narratives. A great example is the film Resurrection.
A Toast!
Nominated for two Academy Awards, this film features two stellar performances from women (but this review is not trying to be gender-biased). Ellen Burstyn delivers one of the best performances in her career in this compelling dramatic fantasy. Furthermore, this film features Eva Le Gallienne’s final and only Oscar-nominated role.
Beer Two
Unfortunately, this film does feature quite a bit of mature content despite its “PG” rating (but this review will not delve too deep into spoilers).
Verdict
Sometimes coming close to death can remind survivors how precious life truly is!
