Sometimes films are very feminist. In fact, feminism has been part of Hollywood well before the start of the #MeToo Movement. Interestingly, some films delve deep into sisterhood. One of the best examples is Crimes of the Heart.
A Toast!
Nominated for three Academy Awards, this is a compelling dramedy. In fact, Sissy Spacek and Tess Harper both earned Academy Award nominations for their performances in this film. Furthermore, Beth Henley beautifully adapts her original stage play in this film adaptation.

Unfortunately, this film does deal with heavy themes, but there will be no major spoilers in this review.
Verdict
Crimes of the Heart might not be so criminal after all (pun intended)!
