A popular type of female character is the “femme fatale.” Such women are alluring, seductive, and sometimes dangerous. Therefore, it is not that surprising that one of the best films from early Hollywood history would simply have the title Dangerous.
A Toast!
Bette Davis won an Academy Award for her leading role in this film. Her character, Joyce Heath, is a riveting femme fatale. Furthermore, this is the first film in which Bette Davis had her hair in its distinct “bob” style. Finally, her character is based on the tragic story of Jeanne Eagels, an actress whom Bette Davis herself had admired.

Unfortunately, the female lead might not be that likable (given the context of the plot).
Verdict
Just like the sirens that enticed Odysseus in Homer’s epic poem The Odyssey, this film is dangerous in its own unique way!
