Amelia Earhart has stood the test of time as a historical figure. Additionally, two-time Oscar-winner Hilary Swank actually played Earhart in Amelia (2009). Unfortunately, not all biopics honor the people that they depict, and Flight for Freedom remains a notorious example of Hollywood giving Earhart the big screen treatment.

First of all, this film does feature beautiful production design. Furthermore, this film stars Rosalind Russell, and she was also pregnant during filming.

Sadly, it is ironic that a film about Amelia Earhart would name her “Tonie Carter.”

Finally, the ending is very speculative (but this film review will not spoil that here).
Verdict
Sometimes people have to wonder if Hollywood would ever pay respects to historical figures respectfully.
