Bette Davis starred in “hag horror” late in her career beginning with the film What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962). Despite being suspenseful, that film was a box-office hit. Therefore, Davis collaborated again with director Robert Aldrich to star in Hush… Hush, Sweet Charlotte.

Nominated for seven Academy Awards, this is a compelling horror film! In fact, it features Gothic production design, outstanding cinematography, and stylish costumes. Furthermore, Bette Davis and Olivia de Havilland deliver powerful performances. Additionally, Agnes Moorehead won both a Golden Globe award and earned an Oscar nomination for her supporting role. Finally, the score and title song resonate with fans of scary movies.
