Because of such depth, great novels can result in amazing films, and one of the best examples is The Constant Nymph.
A Toast!
First of all, Joan Fontaine definitely deserved her Academy Award nomination for her leading role. Besides that fantastic performance, the film reveals a lot about the nature of creativity, social class issues, and the importance of education. There is even a musical theme that adds an ethereal quality to this motion picture. The film itself is a beautiful adaptation of the novel by Margaret Kennedy.
Verdict
Nymphs are mythological by nature, and The Constant Nymph is truly a romantic drama.
