Musicals are oftentimes unrealistic. In fact, La La Land reveals the artificial nature of Hollywood. Nevertheless, some films truly do stand the test of time. The Sound of Music does just that!
A Toast!
The recipient of five Academy Awards, this is one of the most beloved and critically acclaimed films in cinematic history. Furthermore, Julie Andrews delivers what many consider as the greatest performance of her career. It is also a real shame that some of the young stars in this film are no longer with us. Fortunately, this film really does have an enduring legacy.
Verdict
Cheers to the 55th anniversary of this musical masterpiece!
