This film is simply remarkable! In fact, Gregory Peck earned his fourth Academy Award nomination for his starring role in this film. Fortunately, his co-star, Dean Jagger, won his only Oscar for his supporting role. The film itself offers profound insight into bravery and courage in spite of the stress associated with warfare.
