Vipid’s Memories was inspired by events in Vipid’s life. What those events were ended up creating a beautiful, very ethereal sounding album that is very sonically intoxicating.
Nine tracks make up the foundation of this instrumental piece of work. The tracks flow nicely and smoothly from one track to the other; you feel like it goes on forever. In a way it does with its space-like sound; you feel like you’re going on a long trip to the nearest wormhole. But there’s also plenty of almost rock drum-sounding beats early on, but later on, especially in my favorite track “Internity”, that’s when the album goes kinda dancy but also takes a little bit of a spiritual turn.
Have a beer, but nurse it a bit while listening to Memories because the album deserves your undivided attention. It’s perfect for when you just need something playing in the background, or are going on a trip when the goal is to getting lost.
