Sometimes love itself is enigmatic. That is because it could be much more than an emotion. Passionate love affairs have reached the silver screen time and time again. One of the most interesting is My Cousin Rachel.
A Toast!
Nominated for four Academy Awards, this film is undeniably romantic. It has the haunting qualities of Daphne du Maurier’s classic novel Rebecca (as well as Alfred Hitchcock’s celebrated film adaptation). Additionally, this film features Richard Burton’s first Oscar-nominated performance. Finally, the visual design of this film is captivating, and also a bit beguiling.
Verdict
It is a real shame that Vivien Leigh turned down the chance to star in mysteriously romantic drama!
