Ernest Hemingway remains an iconic author. His literary classics include A Farewell to Arms and The Sun Also Rises. Besides being a novelist, Hemingway also composed short stories. One of the best is “The Old Man and the Sea,” and this celebrated narrative had its film adaptation released in 1958.

First of all, Spencer Tracy delivers one of his best performances in this film. Furthermore, the cinematography vividly portrays Hemingway’s classic story as a cinematic adventure. Finally, the Oscar-winning score composed by Dimitri Tiomkin gives the film a uniquely dramatic quality to it.
Verdict
This film reveals what it means to be human no matter what the age of that person is!
