Rita Moreno had a career that includes a variety of awards, including for her supporting role in West Side Story. Even though she had a supporting role in that particular film, she typically only had leading roles. In fact, one of her funniest performances was in The Ritz.
A Toast!
First of all, Rita Morena definitely earned her Golden Globe Award nomination for this film. In fact, her performance is equally as impressive as Jack Weston in this male lead. Even though this film failed to acquire any Academy Award nominations, it was still one of the best comedies released in 1976 (not to mention of all time).

Unfortunately, this film openly displays a lot of adult humor.

Finally, cheers to Terrence McNally for adapting his own stage play into a classic comedy!
